163 Animal Charades Ideas
Animals are the classic first charades category. Everyone knows them, and most can be acted out in seconds with a walk, a sound or one signature move. This list goes well past cats and dogs, from the anteater and chameleon to the peacock and the sloth, so regular players still get a challenge.
Use the easy ones (dog, chicken, bunny) for young kids and save the tricky ones (badger, salamander, budgerigar) for adults. In Chardz, Animals is a free deck: one player holds the phone to their forehead while everyone else acts, describes or makes the animal noise.

How to act out animal charades
- Start with how the animal moves (slither, waddle, gallop) before adding details.
- Use your hands for the defining feature: a trunk, long ears, a beak or claws.
- Animal noises are fair game in the phone version, but not in classic silent charades. Agree on the rule before you start.
Best for: Kids, families and mixed-age groups.
